BIOGRAPHY

This band is influenced by some of the following classic jazz bands:
The Count Basie Orchestra
The Duke Ellington Orchestra
The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra
Quincy Jones and His Orchestra

The leaders, Mr. Terrance Gallop and Mr. Ronald Rolling, each have a rich tradition in education. 

 

Mr. Gallop holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in music education. He is the former band director at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County (1990’s), Friendly High School in Prince Georges County (early 2000’s), and Baltimore City College (2003 to 2009). He was also the assistant band director at Morgan State University in the 1990’s. Mr. Gallop is currently working on his Masters in Leadership at Bellevue University.

Mr. Rolling has performed on trumpet and instructed in the Baltimore area since 1994. He began his studies in the Baltimore City Public School System and continued trumpet studies at Morgan State University under the direction of Mr. Melvin N Miles, Jr. He holds a bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management. Mr. Rolling taught in Baltimore Public School Systems from 1994 – 2003. He joined his former section leader and band director, Mr. Gallop, as the assistant Band Director at Baltimore City College (2003 to 2009). Mr. Rolling has an extensive list of artists for which he has performed for and with, both regionally and nationally.
